Publisher's description of Opera
From Opera Software:Opera 9.6 expands Opera Link, allowing you to synchronize your custom search engines and typed history between different versions of Opera 9.6 and Opera Mini. RSS Reader now previews feeds, enabling you to see a feed before subscribing to it. Opera Mail has useful new features including ignoring and following email threads and managing emails faster in low bandwidth mode. Speed has also improved, meaning you can browse faster than ever.
Opera 9.63 is a recommended security and stability upgrade, which also incorporates the Opera Presto 2.1.1 user agent engine, adds a thread button in the mail toolbar and shortcuts for follow (Ctrl/Cmd-D), ignore (Ctrl/Cmd-Shift-D) and go to thread.

- "Opera browser sings"
Opera 9.62 maintains the program's tradition of striving for the fastest, smallest, and most full-featured browser available. Opera covers the basics with tabbed browsing, mouse-over previews, a customizable search bar, advanced bookmarking tools, and simple integration with e-mail and chat clients. Mouse-gesture support, keyboard shortcuts, and drag-and-drop functionality round out the essentials.
Opera's extras push it to the top of the class. Integrated theme support previews themes from within the interface, and the new version sports a default redo that's an attractive balance between "dark" and "light" themes. Opera's desktop widgets can appear anywhere while Opera is running. The Wand utility combines autofill with saved passwords, and it's hard to ignore the addition of torrent support and real-time fraud protection. The latest version includes reasonable anti-malware protection courtesy Haute Secure.
The expanded features in 9.62 should make any non-believer do a double-take. Opera Link enables Bookmarks, the Personal bar, Speed Dial, and Notes synchronization across all other Opera instances. Quick Find improves the search tool, allowing for full text searching from the address field, the history panel, and opera:historysearch. The Status bar has been restored as a default, the Wand now lets users confirm a successful login before saving credentials, and spatial navigation--similar to Opera Mini and the Wii browser--has been introduced.
The new version is faster, has multiple back-end changes to handle code better, and expands Opera Link synchronization. We think Opera has what it takes to unseat even the biggest-name browsers. You just need to hear it sing.

Version: Opera 9.63
Pros: Opera has got everything you need, all the features provided by popular add-ons of firefox, it is much much fast, much lighter. On top of that it has got feed aggregator, irc, pop/imap.........
Cons: No Add-ons........
Summary: Even though Opera doesn't have as many users as IE or Firefox it isn't lacking in any way as compared to these browsers. In fact I think it is much better than IE and Firefox put together :)

Version: Opera 9.63
"Fast, Trusty and Fully Customizable"
Pros: Wand passwords, Mouse gestures, Tabbed browsing, incredibly fast with its Presto engine (and it's getting even better with Presto 2.2 available on Opera 10 alpha1 scoring 100 on acid3), and THE BEST when it comes to customization and security.
Cons: the current public release is incompatible with Silverlight (Opera 10 alpha1 is), also incompatible with some very few web sites (which I believe that those are built messy to look good on IE messy engine), also memory consumption is a little high.
Summary: Among all the browsers I've ever used (IE 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 RC1; Firefox 3, Chrome, Flock, and finally all Opera versions from 4.0, until 10 alpha1) Opera is the fastest, it has the best engine (Presto) and the upcoming version scores 100/100 on acid... read more >>
