Publisher's description of URL Gather 1.5.2
URL Gather is a good tool that helps you to save and manage your Internet bookmarks (URLs). If you are a Internet surfer, you may find many favorite Web sites, and you will visit them frequently, how do you save their URLs, how do you manage these URLs by category. Using browser's function (such as IE favorites or Firefox bookmarks) is not convenient when there are too many sites.
Version 1.5.2 adds Unicode support.

- "Manage your bookmarks"
With the exception of a few minor issues, this bookmark manager is near the top of the heap. URL Gather's straightforward interface is extremely easy to navigate.
Once you create categories and subcategories, adding a new URL is a cinch. You can either add the URL with a simple click while browsing or enter it manually in the required field. The import/export feature worked extremely fast, with all of our IE bookmarks instantly appearing in the tree menu. Likewise, we were able to locate specific bookmarks using the Search feature. Security is not an issue, as it comes with password protection.
Occasionally, Web pages were slow to load upon launch, and we couldn't get a shortcut button to appear in our Internet Explorer window as promised. Even so, URL Gather's simple design makes this a great bookmark manager for those new to this type of tool or for those who don't want to fuss with too many bells and whistles.

Version: URL Gather 1.5.2
"Great idea - doesn't import I.E. or Firefox bookmarks!"
Pros: Great idea having all my bookmarks in one place rather than having to import and export bookmarks when in different browsers.
Cons: Despite trying several times and then re-installing several times it refuses to successfully import bookmarks from Firefox or I.E.!

Version: URL Gather 1.5.2
"Works great. Easy to catalog and find URL's."
Pros: 1) Simple, clear interface.
2) Able to search for terms/words in Title, URL or user-added description field.
3) Easy to add/catalog URL's from IE context menu.Cons: 1) Very slow to open on FIRST USE at install time.
2) Slower than expected to open on first use during browsing session.Summary: URL Gather works as advertised. It's not fancy and has a bare-bones interface. I wanted something that would let me add descriptive "tags" to URL's and search on them. URL Gather works great for this and provides search results quickly. You can then... read more >>

Version: URL Gather 1.5.2
Pros: Pros? None that I could find. the program refused to work as well as the previous version I once had. It refused to work at all!
Cons: Had (and threw away) a previous version of URL Gather in favor of this "new" version. Downloaded it three times to get an installable version, then could not import favorites saved in IE7, even after uninstalling and re-installing the program.
Summary: Could not import IE7 favorites because the program froze up then shut down at every attempt to do so -- EVERY TIME. I could create Mains, Subs, and Items on an individual basis, but could not impprt anything from anywhere, not even another URL Gath... read more >>
