"Excellent - like autmomated shut down system"
Pros: Set to shut down computer at any time during day or night, or do it from anywhere on the internet or on your phone. Can also be set to restart, stand by, or hibernate. Great for people who leave their computers on 24/7 but would like to save some power, so they set it to shut down during the night. Free too!
Cons: Future changes - maybe more attractive interface that goes more with classic windows theme, and also options to change the time display, because right now it only does military time, an option for standard time would be great.

Pros: It's very nice to be able to have your PC shut off by itself at a set time. This program lets you set a time, ANY time for your PC to either Shutdown, Restart, Log Off, Lock, Hangup, Standby or Hibernate. You can tell it to run at startup, silently in the background and you can also set a custom message that appears when your computer is about to turn off, giving you a time limit to click the button of your choice, and the option to do it later. (If you're still working.) For example, I have mine to shut off at 1:00 AM. So if you go on vacation or leave the house and accidentally left your computer on, then you won't have to worry. It'll shut itself off every time! I highly recommend this program for anyone to try! (And yes, it's low on Memory.)

Version: Switch Off 2.3
Pros: Does what it says with minimum system resource. This is a simple application which will effectively shut down (or restart, hibernate, etc) your PC whenever you want. Can be remotely controlled from any computer or even mobile phone but you can disable the web interface to make it a simple tall. Works well, reliable and safe. Also totally free!
Cons: There's no 'help' menu.

Pros: Whenever I run a defrag, anti-spyware, anti-virus and don't want to wait for results but have to turn off my pc, this software is what I use.
Its has been unchanged for a lot of time but it works perfectly well.
