Version: AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 7.5
"After Years Of Investigation , The conclusion Is ....AVG Is The Best."
Pros: I have been Using AVG for several years now . I used Norton for 1 year , Mcafee for 6 months , Pc micro cillian For 3 months and many more anti viruses for around the same time. My conclusion tells me that AVG is generally the best. Its quite surprising because its a free program. But with many years of investigating on anti virus programs, AVG really is the best for several reasons. Firstly its scanning is quick compared with ones like Norton and Mcafee , Secondly it updates every day which only takes a few seconds , thirdly its not the most popular anti virus. Unlike Norton which everyone knows of , AVG is less popular , which IS AN ADVANTAGE.your probably wondering , that it doesn't make sense because popular stuff are meant to be good , thats why there popular ...right? but no that not right and heres why. Nobody wants a program that all hackers and malicious software makers can get around. Because obviously all the hackers know exactly how to get around the popular programs , they all target the popular programs so that they get a better hit. So what im saying is DONT USE ANY POPULAR PROGRAM. Some programs im talking about are programs like IE 7 , Microsoft office , windows defender ( which isn't too popular yet but will be very soon , because of vista. and many more. There are always alternatives to popular programs . And sometimes the not so popular programs are much better. Programs like Microsoft office isn't the best office suite. Try Open office. Another one of my favorites. Anyway thats a little off topic. So because of popularity , Money , Speed , Updates and Scanning Engine AVG antivirus is the way to go for your antivirus program. However a little note. If in the near future AVG does gain huge amounts of popularity ( which i think i will do so ) THEN and ONLY THEN will i not recommend the program. Because of the reasons i stated for Norton. For Now , AVG is Number 1.
Cons: THIS ANTI VIRUS IS NOT INTENDED FOR ANY BUSINESS OR COMPUTERS WITH EXTREMELY SENSITIVE DATA. You will need a more Robust anti virus system suite like Bit defender. This anti virus is best for home use.

Version: AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 7.5
Pros: This is the greatest, always-up-to-date, spiffy virus scanner. Simply enough, it finds viruses, and it finds them good. I had a major keylogger, and this got rid of it all.
Has great features also. Such as scheduled daily scans, automatic update manager, "virus vault" to keep viruses in a safe place and so they can be identified if they happen to reappear, e-mail scanner that scans ALL incoming AND outgoing e-mails, and more. But the most important thing is, they all work.
Cons: I do believe that since this is the free version that you can't schedule new tasks, you can only edit the 1 you get.
And I'm not sure if this is a setting, because I haven't found it yet, but the date is a little off.. apparently my last scan was 7/15/2007...

"The Absolute BEST Antivirus EVERRRRRR"
Pros: I love everyting about this antivirus. It is free, it is easy to setup, it can be scheduled to scan daily or other times too, it consumes very little resources. It also automatically updates itself one or more times daily. I'm in the computer repair business and have found that this free antivirus is not only the easiest to setup but it finds and removes all viruses without err.

Version: AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 7.5
Pros: I love the simple interface, not bloated like symantec or any other RAM hogging programs. It's simple and it get's the job done, I think I might even buy the pro version. I think I'll try the anti-spyware program made by AVG because this program is so nice.
Cons: They block a tiny bit of functionality for the free version, but I don't see any problem with that.
