From Investintech:Abl2Extract is a powerful PDF Converter tool that lets users convert their PDF data into formatted Excel spreadsheets, editable Word documents, forms, powerpoint presentations, image formats (jpeg, bmp, png, tiff, etc.), HTML and more. A2E has its own proprietary PDF viewer that allows users to select exactly what they want to convert. Our custom Excel conversion option lets users graphically designate how they want their PDF data converted into excel and then save the template for future use. This ensures perfect conversions into Excel. A2E also converts XPS documents into Word, Excel, Powerpoint and more. XPS is microsoft's PDF competitor available in Vista.
Version 5.0 adds XPS conversions to Word, Excel, Powerpoint; PDF to Excel template saving capabilities; PDF to image conversion.

Version: Able2Extract 5
"Very good for converting pdf tables to text."
Pros: Conversion is reasonably fast. Accurate for horizontal text, including table contents and column headings. I needed to convert pdf files that were full of tables into Excel (only the Professional version converts to Excel). Resulting layout in Excel is very nice and usable. User interface is not quite as full-featured in Professional version, but has zoom, etc.
Cons: The only complaint I had is that vertically oriented text is ignored.

Pros: did what I needed it to do.
Cons: The pro version of this product is a hundred times better at converting to word. I don't know why but it is. You figure that it uses the same conversion engine but I got diffrent results. You can find the pro version on there website. (there website can be really slow loading at times)

"Not the best & seriously over priced."
Pros: It does pretty much what it claims but no better in reality then the $49 PDF to word. neither actually render PDF docs into real word documents. Their more along the line of some hybrid format in between PDF & Word thats editable.
Cons: Their pro version might be better but somehow i doubt it. Big time over priced for what you get.
Summary: Decent at best. the price is outrageous. Doesn't actually convert to a real word document but some form of hybrid. Big learning curve. Most assuredly not for the average home user. Way to complicated. I guess after having looked at so many of these,... read more >>

"It could not even convert a simple PDF with table of 3 columns and 1 row."
Pros: nothing.
Cons: it doesn't do what it says it can do.
