- "This utility is Ace"
Ace Utilities presents a suite of familiar PC-managing tools with a very small system-resource footprint.
Smaller than 2.25MB, the tools are all integrated into a clean, familiar, easy-to-use interface with options at the top and down the left gutter. Click on one option and it opens a new window; finish using it and it closes down to the main tool menu.
The Registry Cleaner lets you decide which invalid keys to delete and whether to exclude removable media and CDs from examination. To free up disk space, Disk Analysis displays which files and folders take up the most room. The Cleaning tools find empty folders and files, temporary and unnecessary files, broken shortcuts, and duplicate files, and then remove them--permanently if need be. Not only can the program handle browser tracks, but plug-ins add support for popular apps such as Acrobat, Kazaa, and ICQ.
These robust and customizable features--combined with the access Ace Utilities provides to a few hidden Windows settings, and the option of using it in the Beginner or Expert mode--make the download suitable for every level of user.

Version: Ace Utilities 2.6
Pros: i downloaded this chiefly for the duplicate file manager.. it was very useful and is well worth taking advantage of the trial just for this facility. Similarly the find empty folders facility is useful but can be done easily in windows already. And 30 days should be enough to make use of/road test some of the other features.
Cons: who exactly needs secure shreading of files? I know I don't, if you ever come accross an old hard drive of mine feel free to recover as many files as you like..
the disk analyiser isn't anywhere near as nice as Jdiskreport but it is functional
As yet no where near enough cons to say don't try.. this is prob worth the $39 to some but not me

Version: Ace Utilities 2.6
"Excellent Program I have used for almost 2 years now."
Pros: It has many features that are not easily accessible in XP as far as deleting old files. The first time I used the "Delete Junk files option" I got rid of 12 gigs of crap.
If you have pesky programs that wont delete from you add and remove programs it has a feture that will delete so you dont have to reinstall whatever program you dont want again just to be rid of it. Now these are just two of the many features it has.It can clean all your history, cookies, cache, temp files, ect. It can find uneeded empty folders to delete. It can fix registry get rid of invalid shortcuts, another awesome feature is that it can wipe the space that should be the free space on your hard drive but is not due to dowloading and removing programs that you may not have liked. Well in closing I have downloaded many different programs from cnet just to delete them after time. This is the first one I have dowloaded and actually bought before the trial had ended. Try it you wont be disapointed.
Cons: The only conn I can think of is it does seem to want to make msn messenger reload when you delete unused registry files, but no biggy at all it messsenger fixes itself auto instantly.
