- "Boilerplate protection from Kaspersky"
Protecting your computer from viruses is not something to take lightly, so we're glad to say Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal Pro does a reasonable job of keeping your PC safe. We like this application's unique features that protect Microsoft Office applications, as well as the new utilities for safeguarding archived files.
The interface divides the app's functionality into three main areas: Protection, Settings, and Support. The Protection tab offers the meat of the features, with tools for scanning drives, downloading the latest virus definitions, quarantining offenders, archiving, and generating reports. The Settings tab supplies a number of options for configuring the level of protection, scheduling events, tailoring the interface, or adjusting the program's behavior to your liking. The Support tab also gives you some nice features, including a virus encyclopedia and an option for sending the app's developers a questionable file for analysis.
Recently, Kaspersky has been slightly outperformed in catching threats and we find the price to be a bit steep. All told, though, Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal Pro's combination of tools and features make it an excellent choice for personal use.

Cons: Excessively propietary. Effective only because it blocks EVERYTHING, to wit: couldn't come back to download.com . . . Kaspersky was blocking my access to download.com!
So, tried to turn it off. ACCESS DENIED. Wow. So I decided to uninstall it.
Had it for less than a day, and Uninstall took nearly 20 minutes.
Bad, bad mojo! Stick with something else... ANYTHING else. Any program that requires this much time IN ITS FIRST DAY ON MY PC is sure to be a major pain in the rectum.

"Doesn't work with some Dell Computers"
Pros: Hourly updates. Works great with some computers
Cons: Will not work with some Dell computers due to driver conflicts.
I had the same experience as some other reviewers. I was unable to surf the internet until I uninstalled the anti virus. I wasnt able to use anti hacker either. Both products conflicted with existing drivers and I was forced to unistall and install Trent Micro PC-Cillin instead. The anti hacker product gave me the blue screen of death. Once that was unistalled, no more blue screen, but the antivirus conflicted with the wireless card drivers and the ethernet LAN driver. When I uninstalled the anti virus, I was able to use my LAN and my wireless cards. When I installed Kasperski anti virus and Kaspersky anti hacker again (separately and together for testing) the problems came back. Once uninstalled, the problems disappeared. I could, however, use an older version of Kasperksy anti-hacker without incident.Try the free version before purchasing to make sure Kaspersky is compatible with your existing drivers.

Pros: Out of all the Anti-Virus products I've tried, this is the fastest and most secure. Update to the latest version and your definitions and program files are updated as soon as you connect to the internet - you couldn't be more secure.

"Decent software and great value - especially the 5 in 1 pack"
Pros: Pretty comprehensive and best to buy the CD ROM 5 in 1 pack at WalMart.
Cons: Doesn't tell you much about what it's doing and maybe it doesn't have to but I do miss all those Norton type graphics
