Publisher's description of Pando
Pando is free, secure software that makes sending, receiving, and publishing files up to 1GB in size a breeze. Need to e-mail large attachments, IM a folder, or post your downloadable videos or podcasts to the web? Want to receive or distribute subscription-based content with the click of a button? Meet Pando.
The free version provides 7 days hosting of e-mail packages, 30 days for Web packages. Pando Pro provides 5x download speed, with double the hosting time (i.e. 14 days for e-mail, 60 for Web). Version 2.0.3.2 includes unspecified updates.

- "Send it all with Pando"
Emailing large attachments has never been easy, but this new app combines P2P tech with a clean interface to make sharing files or folders up to 1 GB a cinch.
Circumventing FTP servers, online storage and tertiary email accounts, Pando generates either a link for instant messages and web pages or emails your recipient a tiny attachment. When you click on that attachment or link, Pando connects to its server and downloads the "package," as the Pando people call the contents of your attachment. You even have 14 days to grab the "package" before it gets deleted from their server.
The uncluttered interface uses drag-and-drop browsing to prepare your package. You don't have to wait for the user to install the app: a recipient without Pando gets taken on a step-by-step set up that ends with downloading the package. Packages can be forwarded before the download or upload process is complete -- a smart feature, given varying connection speeds. (It took us only a few minutes to grab a 75 MB package.) Other useful features include support for multiple addressees, Yahoo and Outlook plug-ins that automatically Pando-ize attachments, and a record of how many times your package has been downloaded.
Easy to use, Pando could drastically change how files are transferred between small groups of people.

"Not Bad If You Want Malware on Your Computer!"
Cons: Downloaded the Pando software from Pandos site yesterday and was treated to a good dose of malware. But, my good ole AVAST! Anti Virus software found the Win32:Adware-gen. Oh, I did check it out on Jotti and other Anti Virus sites and it definately was MALWARE. I just sent the file to Avast! several hours ago. Could it be, Pando already fixed it this quick. I hope so. Just make sure you have a good Anti Virus Program like AVAST!

Version: Pando 2.0.3.2
Pros: The major problem with the Internet continues to be the ability to share lare files. Pando essentially solves this problem and its very easy to use. It's essentially a two step process once the software is installed on your computer.
Cons: The free version is very very very slow. Receiving a large file -- such as a video -- will take well over an hour on a high speed connection. In order to speed up the process, you have to use the Premium version not the free version.
Summary: I at first thought that this was very suspicious of this program and I used it only to receive one file and then deleated it from my computer afraid it would launch all sorts of spyware or at the very least slow down my computer. That really was no... read more >>
