Publisher's description of SmartFTP Client (32-bit) 3.0.1021.4
SmartFTP allows you to transfer files across the Internet. It features an Explorer-like, customizable interface and supports drag-and-drop functions. Multiple FTP connections can be opened at the same time, and you can copy files from one remote host to another (FXP). Remote-host directory information is cached for future viewing, and FTP URLs are supported. Other features include a Favorites list; the ability to resume broken downloads; a global history; background transfers; proxy support; a passive transfer mode; and the ability to perform recursive downloads, uploads, and deletes.
Version 3.0.1021.4 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

- "Nothing dumb about SmartFTP"
This powerhouse FTP client takes some getting used to, but you'll be glad you gave it a chance. Don't be alarmed by the cramped, multipane Windows Explorer-like interface; you can customize the toolbars and windowpanes however you like.
With the Local Browser window visible, SmartFTP supports drag-and-drop transfers like those on basic FTP clients. But its real power lies deeper within its option menus, where you'll find CHMOD remote file-attribute modification, background file transfers, multiple FTP connections, passive-mode transfers, site-to-site transfers (FXP), and connections via proxy or SSL. Using the Global Queue window, you even can schedule downloads or uploads to more than one server.
SmartFTP may overwhelm beginners, but it's a natural for intermediates and up.

Version: SmartFTP Client (32-bit) 3.0.1021.4
Pros: This software is great and very easy to use. I used it for years while it was free for personal and educational users. The version 3.0.1016.15 Time Stamp : 2008-06-01 21:20:08 is still free, SFTPMSI30101615.exe but SFTPMSI30101701.exe and above are not. I don't know where you can find the free version.
Cons: It is no longer free for personal and educational users.

Version: SmartFTP Client (32-bit) 3.0.1021.4
"It's OK, but there are free options available"
Pros: It's OK, nothing more
Cons: SmartFTP is no longer free for home users. What do you really want in an ftp program that can't be done by WinSCP for FileZilla, neither of which will cost you a thing. The developer of SmartFTP tends to make false allegations on his forums as well, and acts in a dictatorial manner by deleting posts that are in any way negative about his software.
