Version: Stellar Phoenix NTFS Data Recovery 3.0.0.1
Pros: FANTASTIC! I am not prone to overtly praising products, but this software accomplished what had appeared to be the impossible. Tried the following: VirtualLab and DiskDoctors NTFS. Both took hours (actually days) to try to read the files off a Maxtor 160GB drive that had its file structure mysteriously scrambled on a Windows XP machine. Both failed. Recovery Console could not perform a DIR command on it. Almost sent the drive out for recovery (estimated at $500). Decided to give it one more try, and loaded Stellar Phoenix NTFS. Almost immediately, the program began locating the scrambled files. Took about an hour to completely relocate all the missing files. Bought the program online, and then recovered ALL important files without a hitch. Hope it works as well for you.

"I'm much impressed with the software, 95 percent of data recovered"
Pros: The Stellar Phoenix NTFS Data Recovery software recovered more than 95% of the files on my severely damaged hard drive. This was significant as this drive was the back-up drive for the data for all three of my winery and vineyard computers.

Version: Stellar Phoenix NTFS Data Recovery 3.0.0.1
Pros: Works really great. I used it to recover files from a corrupted RAID system with WinXP and I recovered everything I needed.
Cons: The company claims that you are paying for "lifetime" registration, but then it will only register it to one machine; most people recovering data are going to be doing so on a machine different than the one that died!
Summary: This program works really really well. I have a RAID set up on an XP box. XP went screwy one day, causing my hard drive to churn away on hours at....something. When it was all over, my machine would not boot (ntldr not found). Recovery console w... read more >>

"Good software. Better than many competitors."
Pros: I like that I could create an image of my damaged drive; meaning I could then give my physical drive to my IT department while still being able to try to retrieve files myself. The basic and advanced searches were a very nice feature too.
Cons: Program crashed due to a memory error while trying to recover a very large file from my damaged drive. Also noticed the GUI went a little weird after being left on doing a search overnight; maybe a compatibility issue with the default XP screensaver?
Summary: Overall I was really pleased with Stellar Phoenix NTFS Data Recovery. I was able to recover almost 90% of the data off a drive where the file allocation table had gotten completed scrambled. One big thing that impressed me over the competing product... read more >>
