Version: Studio Buddy 1.0
Pros: I do a several live events and this is really useful for finding out the type of mics to use and other useful tricks.
Cons: The only problem is the window can't be resized so it's not as easy to read as it could be, but apart from that...

Version: Studio Buddy 1.0
"Ummm....what about XP and up"
Pros: 2002???? Couldn't tell you a good thing. I hear great reviews but it doesn't even work with XP? Too bad.
Cons: It's old. Few people will even be able to download it.

Pros: At first browsing, this seems to be a nice offering from those "in the know." A good tool to have available on your computer for when you need it. It covers alot about setting up for recording in a home studio (mic tips), but not much on home recording software tips. (Ie what is compression, reverb, delay, etc..) That's the only reason I'm giving it 4/5, not 5/5, because that's what I hoped it would contain. Nonetheless it's free! Totally free and seems to very genuine. If you like this type of informative help, and don't want to spend months on posting boards like I originally did to get up to speed on all this recording mumbo-jumbo, I recommend you contact Shure for some of their great manuals. They've got some great informative guides and even CD-ROMs. They can help you get up to speed quickly.
Cons: Doesn't have that much information in regards to operating home recording software. Though is great for many other topics. Seems pretty stable. I'm even running it on XP, though XP isn't listed in its OS.
