Version: TUGZip 3.4
"Free and supports plenty of archive types and can use scripts"
Pros: This software is completly free (even for companies), you can't loose a peny with trying. With the multi-language support you can get all the benefits of this archiver (however, i miss localized helps) and by searching the forum, you may also can get some help and very good tips from advance program users, too.
The used - checked the maximum - ZIP compression algoritm is very good with very large files, however, i'm not sure the other types are good or not (fe. ACE, RAR and 7-zip).
You can set up working/application directory which can buy you the so precious time :). By discovering menu items you'll see that it can encrypt files up to 256-bit (AES), do batch-compressing/uncompressing, repair damaged files (i'm not sure how well this works) and create special - javascript-like - script files which you can attach to your schedulded jobs. Useing these scripts with BAT(ch) files you'll get a powerfull archiver utility to create your backups.
The SFX createing support is built-in so nothing will stop you from createing your own executables.
With separate downloads you can create ACE and RAR files for free (however, sometimes these aren't working correctly...).
Cons: It's annoying when you met with bugs and, unfortunetly, TZ contains some. The help's script part isn't very well documented and because of this, you can miss a lot of very good possibility.
The compression speed seems to be slower than other archivers.
Createing SFX exe will create another arcive file which won't be deleted.

Version: TUGZip 3.4
Pros: Easy to install and uninstall. Very stable and excellent for older systems like Windows 98 SE. Works with 29 file formats. Because Quick Zip crashes Windows 98 SE when shut down, I think TUGZip is the best choice. I am very satisfied with TUGZip.

"Excellent Software and Free!"
Pros: What a great find. I reinstalled Windows 2000 on a couple of older computers and I really dislike WinZip. This program is fast, simple and handles so many different types of archives, even ISO. Highly recommended!

Version: TUGZip 3.4
Pros: I can't imagine why people still pay for things like WinZip when such excellent free archivers like TugZip are available! TugZip handles every archive format I've ever needed. It's fast, easy, and reliable. The other reviews here were obviously based on earlier versions---so to bring them up to date: (1.) I've used TZ 3.4.0 extensively and found no bugs at all (remarkable for ANY program). (2) TZ does indeed include RAR compression and extraction. (3) If TZ looked "like a Win 3.1 program" at one time, it doesn't anymore. A real winner!
Cons: None I've been able to find!
