Version: Virtual Villagers 3 - The Secret City 1.0
Pros: If you are looking for a game that you can get a lot of hours of play out of, I recommend this. To briefly describe, you manage the lives of some villagers who hav shipwrecked on an island. You have to teach them how to gather food & other resources, encourage breeding to boost the population, heal the sick and continually train new villagers in all of the different skills (farming, medicine, research, etc.) The utlimate goal is to discover the mysteries of the island (16 I think?) but there is so much more to do. Each villager has its own distinct personality and likes/dislikes or talents. You can literally leave the game running forever and as long as there are no natural disasters where the food supplies run short or something, they'll LIVE in your computer going on about their daily lives in real time.
The villagers die of old age, starvation & disease if not cured. They try to romance each other, sometimes unsuccessfully; they even teach their young. Its pretty amazing.
And if anyone reading this hasnt at least tried one of the Virtual Villagers games, I would highly recommend this one.
Cons: Nothing really comes to mind. I could come up with my own suggestions all day, but I'm just a lowly peon consumer & not a game developer so I'm not even going to try to criticize the work of the great folks at LDW.
